Today in “Awful, Shitty, Worthless Teenagers And The Ruined, Hollow Parents That Raised Them,” Ex-NFL star Brian Holloway may be sued by parents of teens who allegedly trashed his upstate NY home.

From NY Daily News:

Even more troubling for Holloway is the fact that he offered parents the chance to make amends for the estimated $20,000 in damage caused to his house, including smashed windows and glass doors, urinated carpets, holes in the ceilings, as well as a stolen eagle statue that was part of a memorial for his stillborn grandson.

The former grid iron star is holding a icnic for veterans at the home on Saturday, and invited the rowdy teens and their parents to help him clean the house.

"Come out and help set up, fix up, bring food, and picnic stuff, so we can honor these real HEROS," he wrote on his website. "I’m here. Come now. Take a stand for your future. This is called redemption."

"I expected 100 parents to show. Only one showed up," he told ABC News.

When I was in middle school, I trashed a bathroom at a restaurant my family had gone out to eat at with another family. I have no idea why I did it- I was a dumb, young asshole.

My dad had me over there within 20 minutes of finding out about it, forced me to walk up to the hostess and ask for the manager, then had me admit to it and apologize to his face, by myself. My dad only spoke at all after I had apologized. He told him I’d come over to the restaurant to clean it up and make amends for as long as they deemed appropriate.

I never had to clean up or do anything else that I remember- I suppose they had already cleaned the place up. But I knew in no uncertain terms that that kind of behavior was 100 and 10% not even a little bit OK.

I hated my dad for that and other similar things growing up, but looking back, holy shit thank you Mom and Dad.
